Dear Parents & Students,

Wow, it is almost Thanksgiving!  I am so thankful for awesome students and parents! And thank you to ALL the parents, students, alumni, and friends who donated to our Team Funded fundraiser.  After the fees, we took home 10,000.00!  We are so grateful to all who helped us!

Here is what we have coming up.

1. Chipotle Fundraiser - Wed. Nov. 19, 5:00-9:00 pm at the Benbrook store.  Please dine and mention the BMHS Orchestra, or order online with code 7BRX7WW, and we will get a percentage. Share with all your friends on Facebook.

2. Our Winter concert will be on Thursday, Dec 4 @ 6:00 pm in the Auditorium.  Students in seats by 5:30 pm. It is mandatory and part of the final exam.  The dress is concert black, and they can have Christmas lights, hats, or a Christmas Shirt/Sweater. 

3. All-Region for Bass Players that signed up - Sat. Dec. 6th (morning) at Irma Marsh Middle School in Castleberry.  More info coming soon. 

4. Sundance Square Social event – Fri. December 12th, 5:30-10:00 pm. Students will shop, eat dinner, or catch a movie with a parent volunteer (if PG-13 -sign below).  Students will need to bring $ to eat/shop, and ALL students will ride the bus.  We will not accept friends who are not in Orchestra to ride the bus or show up and hang out with your group, and everyone must stay with the group and the chaperone.  We need 6 parents to go and walk with the students. 5. Holiday Spectacular- Show with the High School & Middle School Choir/Theater/Emerald Line/Orchestra/and Elementary choirs - Tuesday, December 16th @ Will Rogers Auditorium at 7:00 pm.  Admission is free, and parking is $12.00.  This is an all-day event, as we will run the show twice during the day to practice.  All Orchestra students are expected to be there, and this is for a grade. This is a first for Benbrook, and we want to be a part of this wonderful celebration/show.   We will feed the students lunch and dinner.  Students will leave the school at 9:00 am, rehearse during the day, and perform at 7:00 pm.  The show will conclude at 8:30, with a return time (unless parents take home) at 9:30 pm.  Dress is concert black with a Red Santa hat.  Students may wear school clothes during the day.  WE NEED 6 PARENTS TO BE WITH US THE ENTIRE DAY, AND A FEW PARENTS WITH CARS TO GET OUR LUNCH.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN COME. 6. We have Pre-UIL Orchestra contest in 12 rehearsals - the last week of January.  It is hard to believe that it is mid-November and 12 rehearsals is  1.5 months away because of all the days off and alternating A/B Days.  We must rehearse more than 12 times, so be on the lookout for sectional times and/or rehearsal times.
